When is a husband not justified in getting angry with his wife, especially if he quarrels with her, insults her family, refuses to fulfill her requests, abuses their children, refuses to allow her to work despite her need for financial support, and tells her that Allah will not accept her prayers and fasting because of his anger with her, knowing that he does not provide for the house and children?

If a husband becomes angry with his wife without just cause, there is no sin upon her, nor does his anger affect the acceptance of her prayers. The sin falls upon the woman only if her husband's displeasure is due to her bad character or lack of obedience. The husband is obligated to spend on his wife and children in a reasonable manner. If he is in straitened circumstances, he is not permitted to prevent his wife from going out to earn a permissible livelihood.
