How can one safeguard the rights of one's young children in the event of death to enable them to complete their education? Is it permissible to allocate or gift a business project to them for this purpose, with the possibility of increasing its capital later? Is verbal notification sufficient for this, or must it be put in writing? And is it permissible to allocate a sum from the current income for the marriage expenses of the third daughter?

Justice among children in gifts and endowments is obligatory, unless a child has a special need that necessitates favoring him to the extent of his need. As for spending on children, it is according to the need of each of them, and equality is not obligatory therein. What is given to some of them in excess of their need must be equalized among the rest of the children. A will for an heir is not permissible unless all adult and sane heirs approve it. As for a gift during one's lifetime, it is permissible on condition of justice among the children, and the preferred view is that justice means giving the male the equivalent of the female. It is better to leave the money for them to divide according to the ordinances of Allah.
