Is it obligatory for one who sees the Prophet (peace be upon him) in a dream to conceal that and not disclose it, for fear that the vision may not recur?

Seeing the Prophet, peace be upon him, in his confirmed description in the authentic Sunnah, is among the glad tidings, because Satan cannot impersonate him. It is permissible for one whom Allah has honored with such a vision to narrate it to those whom he loves and conceal it from those whom he does not love, based on the Prophet's saying, peace be upon him: "Whoever sees me in a dream has indeed seen me, for Satan cannot impersonate me." And in another narration: "he has indeed seen the truth." Ibn al-Arabi said: "If you attain good, or know good, then narrate it to the trustworthy among your brethren, as a form of gratitude, not pride or arrogance." It is advisable to conceal blessings and not speak of them if one fears envy and malice, just as Jacob commanded his son Joseph to conceal his vision from his brothers for fear of their malice: "He said, 'O my son, do not relate your vision to your brothers, lest they concoct a plot against you. Indeed, Satan is to man a manifest enemy.'" So if a person sees what he loves, let him praise Allah and not narrate it except to those who wish him well.
