What is the ruling on a father forcing his daughter to work despite her refusal due to mixed-gender environments, and what is the ruling on his preventing her from marrying unless it is to a nobleman (shareef)?

The maintenance of an unmarried, poor daughter is obligatory upon her father until she marries. The father must provide for her according to his capacity, and he is not allowed to force her to work as long as he is able to provide. If the father commands her to work in a permissible activity that causes no harm, she must obey him. However, if he commands her to do something forbidden by Islamic law, he is not to be obeyed. Working in mixed environments is not permissible, and her disobedience in this matter is not considered an act of disrespect ( 'uquq). As for marriage, compatibility lies in religious commitment and character. If a suitable suitor proposes, the guardian is not allowed to prevent her marriage; otherwise, he would be sinful, and she has the right to take the matter to court.
