Will the Prophets and Messengers come on the Day of Resurrection "humbled and abased" or merely "obedient and submissive," as stated in His — the Almighty's — saying: "And all will come to Him in a state of submission"?

The prophets, peace be upon them, are included in the generality of the verses that speak of the insignificance and submission of all creatures to Allah, and their humility and subservience before Him. However, they will be resurrected in a state of divine honor. Scholars have differed regarding whether the prophets are included among those who will experience terror on the Day of Resurrection. Some believe they are included, while others hold that they are exempted, along with the martyrs and some angels. There is also a class of Allah's servants, from the allies of the Most Merciful, who will not experience terror or grief on that Day. Allah will grant them security, and the angels will receive them, giving them glad tidings of their promised Day.
