Is audibly glorifying Allah on Friday an hour before the prayer from the Sunnah or an innovation?
This act is an innovation (bid'ah) because it was not reported from the Prophet (peace be upon him) nor from his Companions. As for glorifying Allah (tasbeeh) privately between a person and themselves, it contains great good and immense reward. The Prophet (peace be upon him) said: "The most beloved words to Allah are four: SubhanAllah (Glory be to Allah), AlhamduLillah (Praise be to Allah), La ilaha illa Allah (There is no god but Allah), and Allahu Akbar (Allah is the Greatest)." He also said: "Two words are light on the tongue, beloved to the Most Merciful, and heavy on the Scale: SubhanAllah wa bihamdihi (Glory be to Allah and with His praise), SubhanAllahil-Azeem (Glory be to Allah, the Most Great)."
