What is the ruling on a wife insisting on going out to give lessons without her husband's permission and consent, and threatening him with divorce if he prevents her from doing so, knowing that the husband is devoted to her and does not wish to divorce her?

A wife leaving her husband's house without his permission is not permissible. If she leaves without his permission, she is considered disobedient (nashiz), unless she stipulated in the marriage contract that she is allowed to leave for permissible work.

The husband is advised to permit his wife to work if there is no corruption or Sharia violation in it. However, if the work involves Sharia violations, such as suspicious mixing (ikhtilat), he is not allowed to permit her to do it; rather, he must prevent her from it. If he cannot prevent her, then he should divorce her.
