What is the ruling on traveling to another city for recreation and shopping for clothes, knowing that immodesty is widespread there, and fearing falling into sin, and given previous experiences of harassment and lustful gazes from women, and hateful gazes from men, this being after divorcing one's wife three times, and having no desire to return home or visit sisters?

We advise you to take the initiative to marry a righteous woman who will make you chaste and assist you. Until you marry, you must be patient and practice chastity. What will help you with this is frequent fasting, lowering your gaze, closing the doors to temptation, strengthening your connection with Allah, occupying your time with beneficial deeds, and persistently supplicating with a good opinion of Allah. You must also avoid places of temptation, such as markets and other places. If you are compelled to go, let it be only as much as is needed, while adhering to Islamic guidelines like lowering your gaze and avoiding suspicious seclusion and mixing.
