Is a husband entitled to curse and beat his wife and prevent her from hitting their children for their upbringing? Will his prayer against her be answered? Is he allowed to threaten her with marriage to another woman and provoke her jealousy by talking about other women?

The husband's mistreatment of his wife and children and his hint at marriage are unacceptable and inappropriate. Disciplining children with striking is permissible, but with conditions: it begins with words, then warning, then reproof, then light, non-injurious striking, and the child should only be struck after the age of ten for abandoning prayer, and the strikes should not exceed three. The wife must care for and discipline her children. As for supplicating against the husband, Allah has forbidden transgression in supplication or supplicating for sin and severing ties of kinship. It is advised to be patient with the husband and try to reach an understanding with him calmly, avoiding provoking him, and not involving a third party except in extreme necessity and after choosing a trustworthy advisor.
