If lying becomes widespread among patients to obtain money, then it is permissible for the examining student to pay the patient money to ensure his truthfulness and avoid being misled, which would lead to his failure. This is permissible for the payer out of necessity, but it is forbidden (haram) for the recipient to take money unjustly.

It is also permissible for the patient to refuse examination unless there is financial compensation for his time and effort, as this is considered wages for work. However, he is not allowed to lie under any circumstances.
