Cheating is forbidden, as the Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, said: "Whoever cheats us is not of us." This includes cheating in transactions, advice, consultation, and knowledge. It is not permissible to be lenient with it or overlook it due to the corruption it entails. One who succeeds through cheating is not truly successful and will assume a position he does not deserve, which will make him fail in performing his duty. A student asking a patient about the diagnosis of his illness is a form of cheating. The student must be honest and only ask about the symptoms, then perform the diagnosis himself.
