Injustice is one of the greatest prohibitions, and the injustice against workers and the usurpation of their rights is among the most heinous forms of injustice. The Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, said, quoting Allah Almighty: "There are three whose opponent I will be on the Day of Resurrection: a man who gave a promise in My Name and then broke it; a man who sold a free person and consumed his price; and a man who hired a worker, extracted full work from him, but did not pay him his wages." And whoever assists an oppressor is a partner in sin. It is obligatory to repel injustice as much as possible. If you are exerting effort in advising officials and alleviating injustice from workers, then your staying in the job might be better than leaving it, for you are doing good as long as you strive to repel or alleviate injustice. Sheikh Al-Islam Ibn Taymiyyah said that the one who aids in sin is he who assists the oppressor, but whoever assists the oppressed in alleviating injustice from him is the agent of the oppressed, not the oppressor. As for injustice resulting from a violation of labor laws or employment contracts, the right might be with the employer, for the contract is the law between the contracting parties.
