Is it permissible to raise one's voice while reciting Surahs from the Qur'an during the washing of a child's body (ghusl)?

It is permissible to recite the Quran while washing a child, so long as it is not in the restroom (a place for relieving oneself), out of reverence for the Quran. This is the view of Sheikh Ibn Baz. If the washing is done outside the restroom, there is no harm in reciting. However, it is preferable to refrain from recitation for the sake of contemplation and humility, as this is the greatest purpose of reciting the Quran, as mentioned by Al-Nawawi and Ibn Uthaymeen.
