Is it disliked to raise one's voice when reciting the Quran in a place where a child is sleeping?

The first is not to raise one's voice near a sleeping child, because scholars have explained that this causes harm, and the ruling on causing harm does not differ between adults and children. There are Ahadith that suggest the desirability of raising one's voice during recitation and others that suggest whispering. Scholars have reconciled these by stating that concealment is better if the reciter fears showing off or harming those praying or sleeping. Loud recitation is better otherwise, due to the greater effort involved, the benefit extending to listeners, and energizing the reciter. This reconciliation is supported by the Hadith from Abu Dawud: "Indeed, all of you are supplicating to your Lord, so do not harm one another, and let not one of you raise his voice above another in recitation."
