What is the ruling on delaying prayers if the work is sensitive and involves guarding and security, and is it permissible to abandon guarding and expose the one being guarded to danger in order to devote oneself to prayer?

The fundamental principle is to perform the prayer at its appointed time, as Allah Almighty says: "Indeed, prayer has been decreed upon the believers a book [i.e., obligation] of fixed times." It is permissible to delay a prayer and combine it with the one that follows it due to a legitimate Shar'i excuse. Among these excuses is fear for oneself or one's property, such as a guard who is unable to reconcile prayer with his guarding duties at its [appointed] time.
