Is it permissible to continue working in music - given that it is the sole source of income and needed for marriage expenses - and then leave it after completing the marriage?

Merely contemplating leaving work involving musical instruments is commendable, for they are forbidden, and there is no good in wealth earned from them. One must hasten to repent and abandon this work, seeking a lawful profession, in fulfillment of Allah's saying: "And whoever fears Allah – He will make for him a way out And will provide for him from where he does not expect." Marriage is not a necessity that permits continuing in forbidden work; there are alternatives for preserving one's chastity, such as fasting. It is not advisable to open the door of necessity to permit the forbidden. However, if there is a genuine necessity, such as the fear of falling into immorality, and marriage cannot be postponed, then it is permissible to continue in this work to the extent of the necessity to obtain the minimum amount of money to complete the marriage, and the permissibility ceases when the necessity ends.
