Does reducing supererogatory acts indicate a lack of love for the Lord?

Drawing nearer to Allah through supererogatory acts after fulfilling the obligatory ones is a cause for His love, as stated in the Hadith Qudsi: "My servant continues to draw near to Me with supererogatory deeds until I love him." However, this does not mean that one who performs few supererogatory acts is not loved by Allah. Continuous good deeds, even if few, are more beloved to Allah than many deeds that are discontinued, for the Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, said: "The most beloved of deeds to Allah are those that are continuous, even if they are few."
