A Muslim should have good morals and deal kindly with people. He should also maintain a good marital relationship. It is better for him to forgive the oppressor. It is forbidden to harm people without just cause, and repentance is obligatory for having wronged them. For repentance from the rights of other people, one must seek their forgiveness if possible. Otherwise, one should increase in good deeds and seek forgiveness for those whose rights one has violated, bearing in mind that sound evidence confirms that whoever does not seek forgiveness for injustices will have from his good deeds taken to repay the wronged person.
