How can we reconcile verse (69) of Surat Al-Ma'idah, which mentions that Christians will go to Paradise, with verse (72) of the same Surah, which indicates that Christians will go to Hell?

The verse: "Indeed, those who believed and those who were Jews and the Sabeans and the Christians - whoever believed in Allah and the Last Day and did righteousness - no fear will there be concerning them, nor will they grieve," means that whoever among these groups believes in what must be believed, including Muhammad (peace be upon him) for those to whom his message reached, and performs righteous deeds, will have the reward of their deeds with Allah. As for those who disbelieved in some of the messengers, such as the Christians who disbelieved in Muhammad (peace be upon him), they are among the people of Hellfire. The second verse in Al-Ma'idah indicates the disbelief of the Christians by their saying: "Indeed, Allah is the Messiah." Allah the Almighty has clarified the falsehood of the claim of Jesus' divinity and refuted his association with Allah the Almighty, for Allah has forbidden Paradise to the polytheists. Also, the Christians disbelieved by their saying: "Indeed, Allah is the third of three." Allah has responded to them by stating that there is no god except one God, and has threatened them with a painful punishment if they do not desist from their saying, and has called them to repentance. He also reminded that the Messiah, son of Mary, was a messenger, and his mother was a truthful woman, and both of them ate food, which indicates their need and poverty like other human beings.
