Is shaving the nape for men permissible, or is it an act of the Majus (Zoroastrians)? And is the hadith prohibiting shaving the nape except for cupping (hijama) authentic?

The hadith narrated concerning the prohibition of shaving the nape is weak, and Al-Albani declared it weak. However, the Hanbalis held the view that shaving the nape is disliked absolutely, or they restricted the dislike to cases where shaving the nape is done independently of the head or without a need such as cupping; this is because it is an act of the Majus (Zoroastrians), and "whoever imitates a people is one of them." What supports this is that Umar ibn Al-Khattab said to someone who had shaved his nape and worn silk: "Whoever imitates a people is one of them."
