What is the meaning of "bi al-ḥaqq" (in truth/with justice) in the Almighty's saying, "He created the heavens and the earth in truth"? And would there be a difference if God had not created anything? And how did the exegetes know unseen matters that the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) did not mention, such as Ibn Kathir's statement about the children of disbelievers and Muslims on the Day of Judgment, or that "Wail is a valley in Hell"? And are they divinely inspired? And why do we accept their opinions without contemplation?

The interpretation of "He created the heavens and the earth with truth" has several explanations: that He created them for truth, or as truth, or with His truthful word, or with wisdom. Truth is the opposite of falsehood and encompasses justice, correctness, and wisdom. Allah created the universe for great wisdoms, and He instilled in it a precise system. He is independent of His creation, but the creation of creation manifests the effects of His attributes.

Regarding the interpretation of the Quran, scholars differentiate between the truthful words of Allah and their own interpretations, which may be right or wrong. As for unseen matters, they are only accepted with evidence from the infallible revelation (the Book and the Sunnah). Ibn Kathir reviewed various hadiths regarding the fate of the children of disbelievers and those who died during the fatrah (period between prophets), concluding that they will be tested on the Day of Judgment. This is the saying of the Ahl al-Sunnah wa al-Jama'ah (Sunni Muslims).

The interpretation of al-Wail as a valley in Hell was narrated from the Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, but Ibn Kathir did not authenticate the hadith; rather, he judged it to be munkar (rejected) and preferred to interpret it as "destruction and ruin." Meanwhile, it was narrated from some companions and tabi'een that al-Wail is a valley in Hell from which the pus of the people of Hell flows, or a valley of intense heat.
