What is the ruling of Islamic law regarding someone who sacrifices a limping animal for Udhiyah, when he himself was the cause of its limping?

If the sacrificial animal is clearly lame, it is not permissible, whether the sacrificer caused its lameness or not. If it became lame before being designated for sacrifice, it is not permissible. But if it became lame after it was designated for sacrifice, then it is permissible according to the Hanbalis and Shafi'is. As for the Malikis, the sacrificial animal is not permissible if it became defective before slaughter, whether it was vowed or not.
