How can a person escape a great affliction that he feels is a consequence of his ignorance, citing the verse, "And whoever fears Allah – He will make for him a way out"?

This world is a place of trial, where Allah tests His servants to raise their ranks and expiate their sins. The trial may also be due to sins. Therefore, it is advised to be patient, repent, and seek forgiveness, as these alleviate affliction. It is also advised to seek Allah's help and supplicate frequently, especially with the supplication of the distressed: "O Allah, I hope for Your mercy, so do not abandon me to my own soul for the blink of an eye, and set all my affairs right for me. There is no god but You."
