What is the ruling on repeatedly holding celebrations in mosques, by designating a format for them, such as reciting the Qur’an and presenting speeches before the marriage contract?

The majority of jurists are of the opinion that it is desirable to perform the marriage contract in the mosque, provided that this does not lead to the desecration of the mosque or the commission of forbidden acts therein, such as beating drums or chanting songs. Only the contract itself is sufficient. There is no harm in reciting the Quran if it is for admonition, but its formal recitation at the opening of gatherings is an innovation (bid'ah).
