Is it true that Allah has a soul like that of humans, angels, and the rest of creation, and is the soul a created thing?

It is impermissible to describe Allah except with what He has described Himself, or with what His Messenger (peace be upon him) has described Him. "The spirit" (ar-ruh) is not among the attributes of Allah; rather, it is one of His creations. Its attribution to Allah Almighty in the texts is for the purpose of honorific designation, similar to "the House of Allah" (Bayt Allah) and "the she-camel of Allah" (Naqat Allah). Spirits are created and originated, and they are not a part of Allah. Therefore, the attribution in His saying, the Almighty: (and a spirit from Him) means that it is from Allah, meaning its origin and genesis are from Him, and He is its Creator. This attribution does not imply fragmentation or that the spirit is a part of the Divine Essence.
