What should a person do who lives in a town full of temptations and unlawful things, suffers from masturbation and wishes to stop it, but cannot marry or fast due to the intense heat?

Fasting in intense heat multiplies good deeds, and the righteous predecessors used to observe it because of the thirst it entails during scorching midday hours. Among these instances are Umar's exhortation to his son to fast in severe heat, Aisha's fasting, and Imam Ahmad's practice of pouring water on his face to cool down while fasting. The Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, also used to pour water on his head while fasting. It is narrated from Abu al-Darda that fasting on an extremely hot day is for the heat of the Day of Resurrection, and that the Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, used to fast during intense heat even while traveling. For the fasting individuals who patiently endured severe thirst, Allah has designated a special gate in Paradise called Ar-Rayyan.
