The answer

Donating a refrigerator for people to drink from in public places, especially in the mosque, is among the acts of charity and ongoing alms (sadaqah jariyah) whose reward reaches the deceased if it is dedicated to them, as stated in the Hadith: "When a person dies, all his deeds come to an end except for three: ongoing charity, or knowledge from which others benefit, or a righteous child who supplicates for him." The owner of the refrigerator receives its reward, while the reward for the water goes to whoever endowed it.
