The question

Is it permissible to take interest on inherited money that is only sufficient for basic expenses, or is it better to donate it? Will Allah punish me if I raise my voice at my mother because of her not adhering to religious teachings, out of fear for her? And what is the way to rectify her situation and please Allah?

The answer

Money must be withdrawn from a usurious bank and not left in it, because doing so aids in sin and contaminates money with the forbidden. If a person is compelled to deposit their money in a usurious bank, they should deposit it in a current account, meaning one that does not accrue interest. If interest does accrue, it is unlawful and must be spent on general Muslim welfare or given to the poor and needy. Whoever comes into possession of unlawful money may only take from it what is necessary for their needs.

As for the mother, it is obligatory to honor her, treat her kindly, and not raise one's voice at her. One should strive for her guidance and supplicate for her and the sisters, and encourage them to observe the lawful hijab.
