Is a wife sinful if she raises her voice at her husband during a quarrel? Does that justify the husband hitting and abandoning her? And should she remain silent and not respond to him when he is angry and reproaching her?

The Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, said: "A believing man should not hate a believing woman. If he dislikes one of her characteristics, he will be pleased with another." And indeed, a wife raising her voice is a sign of ill-manners, but it does not permit the husband to insult, beat, or abandon her. She has the right to defend herself respectfully. Be a slave to your husband, and he will be a slave to you. "Take from me forgiveness, and you will ensure my love." As advice to both spouses, they should address problems with wisdom, gentle words, overlooking minor faults, and mutual counsel. Whoever is overcome by anger should take measures to repel it.
