If my wet hand touches something impure and dry outside the mosque, do my clothes become impure and must I wash my hand? And is it permissible for me to adopt the easier opinion in this matter to avoid hardship?

A Muslim should not surrender to obsessive whispers (waswas) as they are from the plots of Satan. Any limb that touches a wet impurity becomes impure, and anything it subsequently touches before it dries also becomes impure. If the impure spot dries or the impurity itself is removed without water, the ruling of impurity remains, and it does not transfer by contact to a dry object. However, if the touching object is wet, there is a difference of opinion. If the impurity is removed with something other than pure water, and the spot touches something while wet or after drying, does what it touches become impure? There are two opinions on this.

If one wears an impure garment and sweats in it, if any of the impurity dissolves and adheres to the body, then it must be washed; otherwise, not. A wet garment does not become impure by touching dry impure mud because dryness absorbs moisture. According to the Shafi'is and Hanbalis, a wet pure object becomes impure by touching a dry impure one. If the body or garment becomes impure with urine or other impurities, it must be washed before prayer. If the body or garment touches a dry impure spot and the touching object is dry, then there is no issue. If it is wet, there is a difference of opinion. Following the more cautious opinion aligns with piety, but hardship and exhaustion bring ease, so it is permissible to adopt the lighter opinion.
