Is it Islamically permissible to perform a hysterectomy and ovariectomy on a cat?

This procedure involves torturing the animal, and torturing an animal is forbidden except out of need, necessity, or an overriding benefit. Furthermore, it entails cutting off the animal's progeny, and this falls under His (the Most High) saying: (and destroys crops and progeny) and His (the Most High) saying: (And I will surely command them, and they will alter the creation of Allah). Therefore, it is not permissible to undertake this procedure unless it benefits the animal, such as the presence of a disease that necessitates its removal.
