Is it permissible to take back one's wife after divorcing her for the second time in a moment of anger, knowing that she was also divorced the first time in a state of anger? And is it permissible to take her back without her knowledge or consent, so that she remains with her family for a period?

A woman who has been given a revocable divorce must observe her iddah (waiting period) in the marital home, and the husband is not permitted to expel her from it, based on the Almighty’s saying: ﴿Do not expel them from their homes, nor should they leave, unless they commit a clear immorality.﴾ The husband has the right to take her back as long as she is within the iddah, without requiring her presence or her consent. It is recommended to have witnesses to the reconciliation, and some jurists have even held it to be obligatory.

Both spouses should be keen on maintaining family stability, each knowing the other's rights, and overlooking mistakes. If the wife is disobedient, divorce is not the first solution; rather, it is preceded by steps that should be followed. It is also important to avoid anger as much as possible, as its consequences are dire.
