Is the debate between Ibn Taymiyyah and Ibn Ata' Allah, mentioned in history books, authentic?

The debate, widely circulated in Sufi and Shia forums and attributed to Ibn Kathir and Ibn al-Athir, is false. Ibn al-Athir died before Ibn Taymiyyah was born, and Ibn Kathir did not mention anything about this debate. Rather, he stated that Ibn Taymiyyah was imprisoned in thea Citadel in Egypt, and some discussions took place between him and certain jurists, then prayer separated them, then they met again, and Ibn Taymiyyah chose imprisonment. This alleged debate was mentioned by the playwright Abdul Rahman Al-Sharqawi in his book "Ibn Taymiyyah the Tormented Jurist" without referencing any historical source, and Al-Muslim newspaper and Sayyid Al-Jumaili followed suit.
