How do we reconcile the Prophet's — may God's prayers and peace be upon him — recitation of Surat Al-Baqarah, Al-Imran, and An-Nisa in a single rak'ah with the fact that his bowing and prostration were close to the length of his standing, considering that the recitation of these surahs takes a long time, which might make the length of his prayer exceed Fajr and approach Dhuhr?

The hadith narrated by Muslim and Ahmad from Hudhayfah describes the Prophet's (peace be upon him) night vigil, where he recited Surat al-Baqarah, then Surat an-Nisa, then Surat Aal Imran, slowly and deliberately. He would glorify Allah at verses of glorification, supplicate at verses of supplication, and seek refuge at verses of seeking refuge. His bowing and prostration were close in length to his standing.

This indicates the blessings of time for the saints and prophets, as they accomplish many tasks in a short time, and their miraculous deeds are undisputed. Examples of this include: Uthman ibn Affan (may Allah be pleased with him): His wife used to say that he would complete the recitation of the Qur'an every night in one rak'ah. Tamim ad-Dari: He completed the recitation of the entire Qur'an in one rak'ah. Mansour ibn Zadhan: He would complete the recitation of the Qur'an between Dhuhr and Asr, and between Maghrib and Isha. Imam al-Bukhari: He would complete the recitation of the Qur'an every three nights during Ramadan, and one complete recitation every day during the day. Yahya ibn Sa'id al-Qattan: He would complete the recitation of the Qur'an every day and night between Maghrib and Isha. Abu Bakr ibn Ayyash: For sixty years, he would complete the recitation of the Qur'an once every day. Imam ash-Shafi'i: He would complete the recitation once every night, and sixty times during Ramadan. Sa'id ibn Jubayr: He recited the Qur'an in one rak'ah inside the Kaaba.
