The answer

A thief does not take more through theft than what was decreed for him, and this is something that must be believed. Belief in divine decree (al-) encompasses four levels: Allah's eternal knowledge, the inscription of that in the Preserved Tablet (al-Lawh al-Mahfuz), Allah's all-encompassing will and comprehensive power, and Allah's creation of all creatures. The Lawgiver has condemned hastening to acquire provisions (rizq) through unlawful means, due to the Prophet's (peace and blessings be upon him) saying: "And let not the slowness of provision lead you to seek it through disobedience to Allah, for indeed, what is with Allah cannot be attained except through obedience to Him."
