Did Ibn Taymiyyah say that the torment of Hellfire will end, and if he did say that, what is his evidence, given the existence of verses that contradict this statement?

What is attributed to Shaykh al-Islam Ibn Taymiyyah regarding his saying about the annihilation of Hellfire is incorrect, and his printed and circulated books do not contain that. What is found in his books is the statement of the perpetuity and permanence of Paradise and Hellfire. He narrated the consensus of the Salaf and the Imams on this, and even authored a work refuting those who claim the annihilation of Paradise and Hellfire. As for the claim of his excommunication, it is false.
