How can morals be elevated and children be raised upon them in a negative environment, and should severity and violence be resorted to in order to improve their behavior after patience and gentleness have failed?

Bad morals align with the soul's desires, whereas good morals are a refinement of the soul and require effort. Proper upbringing establishes good morals to overcome desires, and the child accepts it with love, not with harshness.

To instill good morals: 1. Gentleness and kindness: Allah loves gentleness and adorns everything with it. Children are attracted to a gentle parent. Gentleness does not contradict punishment when needed, but it should be done wisely and after exhausting advice. 2. Good example: Parents must adhere to the morals they wish to instill in their children, for the faults of children are linked to the faults of parents. 3. Righteous environment: Seek an environment (neighborhood, city, clubs) that encourages good morals and condemns the reprehensible, and where the family mixes with committed Muslim families.

Second: Increase supplication for the righteousness and guidance of children, for the supplication of parents for their children is one of the characteristics of the righteous servants of Allah.
