What is the ruling on continuous vaginal discharge, and is it considered a permanent impurity that necessitates ablution for every prayer?

Vaginal discharge (secretions) of a woman is considered pure, according to the more preponderant opinion. Therefore, it is not obligatory to wash it off the body or clothes, though it is recommended to do so to avoid a difference of opinion. It nullifies ablution (Wudu') according to the four Imams. If a woman's discharge is continuous, her ruling is the same as that of a person afflicted with سلس ( سلس البول/ سلس الريح - urinary/wind incontinence); she performs ablution for each prayer after its time has begun, and then she prays the obligatory prayer and as many supererogatory prayers as she wishes.
