What should one do whose doubts have increased regarding the occurrence of divorce by implied terms, and what should prevail in his assumption concerning his not remembering the intention?

Divorce does not occur through allusive (kinayat) pronouncements without intention, and doubt concerning the intention of divorce is not given any weight, because the default is the continuation of the marriage. Al-Majd Ibn Taymiyyah said: "If one doubts the divorce, or its condition, it is built upon the certainty of the marriage." Therefore, one must turn away from divorce-related whispers (waswas) and beware of giving in to them.
