Is it permissible for a son to give his mother zakat money to meet her needs for the obligatory maintenance which her husband is refusing to pay?

It is not permissible to give Zakat to the mother from the share of the poor and the needy if her husband provides for her. Otherwise, her maintenance becomes obligatory upon her capable children. If the children are unable to provide for her, then it is permissible to give her Zakat. It is permissible to give Zakat to the mother from the share of the debtors to pay off her debts.
