Is the money that a man I once loved sent me as a gift and blessing after my marriage permissible for me, knowing that I have already spent it?

If the money is a gift free from corrupt purposes and evil intentions, and it is not a means to evil nor does the heart become attached to it, then it is lawful and good. However, it is preferable not to accept it, as it may lead to temptation and evil. It must be noted that correspondence between the two of you is impermissible, and you must fear Allah and cease this, for such an act brings Allah's displeasure and wrath, and exposes the family to danger.
