What is the ruling on money acquired from smuggling people into Europe? Is Zakat obligatory on it if it reaches the minimum threshold (nisab)? And what should one do with it if it is unlawful?

If the work is prohibited, then its earnings are prohibited, for the Prophet, peace and blessings be upon Allah be upon him, said: “And indeed, when Allah prohibits something for a people, He prohibits its price for them.” One must dispose of unlawful money by spending it on charitable causes, unless its owner is poor and in need, in which case he may take from it what suffices his need.
