It is not permissible for the relatives of the deceased to abandon adornment as a sign of mourning for more than three days, except for the wife, who mourns her husband for four months and ten days. This is based on the Prophet's (peace be upon him) saying: "It is not permissible for a woman who believes in Allah and the Last Day to mourn for a deceased person for more than three nights, except for her husband, for four months and ten days." Therefore, a woman is not permitted to refrain from using henna or other adornments out of grief for a deceased person for more than three days, except for her husband.
