What is the ruling on a woman whose husband has died, but who adorns herself, beautifies herself, and acts like a chaste woman, all while possessing good morals?

It is forbidden for a widow to adorn herself during the iddah (waiting period), but she is permitted to clean herself, clip her nails, and remove permissible hair. After the iddah concludes, she is allowed to adorn herself. As for tabarruj (displaying oneself immodestly) and showing adornment in front of non-mahram men, it is forbidden for all women, based on the Almighty's saying: "And abide in your houses and do not display yourselves as [was] the display of the former times of ignorance."
