Is it permissible for a woman in her 'iddah to remove her body hair?

The regulation of mourning (ihdad) for a woman whose husband has passed away is for her to refrain from all types of adornment throughout her waiting period (iddah). This is indicated by prophetic hadiths that prohibit wearing dyed garments, kohl, and perfume. As for removing hair from her body, whatever is for cleanliness and removing harm, such as armpit hair, is permissible and even recommended. However, whatever is for adornment and beautification, such as cutting head hair or removing hair from the arms and legs, is forbidden because it contradicts the required mourning.
