Must a wife purify herself from the effect of semen that touches her while she is menstruating?

Removing impurities (najāsa) from one's clothes or body is obligatory, according to the majority of scholars, for anyone intending to pray. However, for someone who does not intend to pray, there is a difference of opinion: some scholars deem it obligatory, while others do not. Thus, if the fluid is madhy (pre-seminal fluid), its removal is subject to the aforementioned difference of opinion. If it is maniy (seminal fluid), it is not obligatory to wash it; rather, it is recommended to rub it for cleanliness, as it is not impure according to the preponderant opinion.
