What is the ruling of Islamic law regarding divorcing one's wife three separate times—the first via a text message in the wife's absence and without the intention of divorce, and the second and third face-to-face and in a state of intense anger—knowing that the husband is quick to anger and did not intend to end the marital relationship?

First: Divorce occurs through writing, provided there is an intention to divorce. If there is no intention, then it does not occur.

Second: Divorce in anger has details: If the anger is very severe to the point of not being aware of what is being said, or severe enough to lead to divorce even with awareness, then it does not occur. As for light anger that does not affect one's will, divorce occurs with it.

And for one who divorces three times or twice, one divorce occurs, according to the more preponderant opinion.

The last divorce does not occur, and the occurrence of the divorce before it depends on the severity of the anger or lack thereof.

One must fear Allah and control their tongue when angry.
