Is it permissible for my husband to pay me a monthly sum exceeding the value of the Zakat due on my gold and the feeding of seventy needy persons, knowing that I have no income and he is the one who provides for me?

If gold is jewelry, there is no zakat on it according to the relied-upon view of the madhhabs. However, if it is not jewelry, then the debt mentioned is a matter of differing opinion: does it negate zakat or not? There are two views on this. In all cases, the amount of zakat due is a quarter of a tenth (2.5%), and it is not a condition to pay it from the same wealth upon which zakat became due.
