What is the ruling on completely abstaining from marriage and procreation, rejecting this idea because life is full of hardship, as stated in His Almighty's saying: "We have certainly created man into hardship," in addition to burdensome religious obligations, the torment of the grave, and the horrors of the Day of Judgment, as the questioner believes that not having children provides them with relief from all this arduousness?

A Muslim should not have a negative outlook on life, for life contains both hardships and blessings. Allah has provided a cure for every ailment and two eases for every difficulty, and He has promised a reward to the patient. Religious obligations are within human capacity, and in cases of unbearable hardship, relief is granted.

As for the torment of the grave and the Day of Judgment, Allah did not create His servants to punish them, but rather to command them with what is good for them and forbid them from what is evil. He has made bliss the counterpart to torment, and security the counterpart to terror. A pessimistic outlook and abstaining from procreation contradict the Sunnah of the Prophet, peace be upon him, who encouraged marriage and childbearing, saying: "Marry the loving and fertile, for I will boast of your multitude before the nations." Fleeing from procreation will not change anything that Allah has decreed.
