Is the phrase "the will of the people is from the will of God" correct?

The statement that "the will of the people is the will of God" is a tremendous fabrication, unprecedented even among disbelievers, about whom Allah narrated their attachment to divine will by saying: "Had Allah willed, we would not have associated [anything with Him]." This statement allows the people to do as they please and act without the constraints of Sharia, basing their actions on whims, materialism, and desires. Not even Abu Jahl dared to utter it, because its ugliness is evident to sound minds. If the will of the people were the will of God, then all existentialist, communist, Nazi, and Zionist tendencies, and everything evil souls desire—such as promiscuity, decadence, drinking alcohol, and fulfilling lusts—would be from God's command, which is impossible. So why do they criticize others if the will and desires of the people are from the will of God? And why would Allah send messengers, reveal books, and legislate jihad, commanding good and forbidding evil, if their will were from His will? This is utterly impossible and the ultimate in depravity and misguidance. Those who claim this falsehood do not apply it to themselves; rather, they permit themselves to invade people who do not submit to their authority. This is a great polytheism against Allah, as they have made the people an equal to Allah, and their whims equals to His law and wisdom.
